I seen that it was not going to go away, so 1 year before, I started running with the break of 30 in the day under 8 hours.

Then 2 months before I started running without the restart.

When it came in to play, I did one restart and then did another to see how they would work with the restriction. Just went to recap and not did one since July.

I am not saying to vote for the Elephant. I am saying don't vote for the Donkey. I have lots of problems with the Republican party. I am an ultra Conservative. If it isn't in the Constitution the government can't do it. That is what a conservative believes. It has nothing to do with men wanting to kiss each other. Which I don't understand myself but to each their own.

My problem is that most laws are made by regulatory agencies. The Department of Transportation passes a regulation and Congress rubber stamps them. No one in Congress stood up one day and said, "Fellow members of Congress, I feel that truck drivers should only be able to use the 34 hour reset rule once every 168 hours and that the 34 hour restart period should include two 1-5 AM time periods." It was an employee of the DOT who had that idea while sitting on the pot. They have to come up with something to justify their jobs. So they come up with new ideas. They sit around the table and talk about their latest ideas to make the world a better place. The idea get passed up the line and is included in the rules sent to Congress for rubber stamping. No debate, just sign and go home for fund raising.

Now you change Presidents and you change the head of the DOT but the people who work for the DOT are the same idiots who came up with those rules in the first place. You can't get rid of them because of Civil Service Laws. Those were a mistake. Every federal and state employee should lose their jobs in a new administration. That way Government would not grow and grow and grow until our freedoms are strangled by the fact that the employees have to do something. There are 90,000 new laws passed every year. At some point aren't they done?

Nixon started the Environmental Protection Agency around 1970. That agency has done wonderful things with the environment. But now they have 40 times the number of employees that they had when it started. Why? The government should have only one department. The Department of Problem Solving. A problem comes up, they solve it and go on to the next one. The way it is now, there is no reason to solve anything.

I believe I am preaching. Sorry, shall we pass the collection plate and turn in your hymnals to 232 "Shall We Gather at the River."

And behind the scenes they were taking bribes from the trucking corps to make things worse.

And Rand Paul is a special breed of psycho...

Actually, the question was to the DRIVERS, screw the companies.

I want to know what YOU think of the idea, not some business-school-failure pencil-pushing gork.

That's true. But with these elogs, you cant change them so if you actually got a scenario like this, youd have to live with it. I like the elog in that you work your hours and you take your breaks and theres nothing that can be said about it but you really have to keep on your toes in the planning stage so you don't run out of hours on the road.

    Lux Prometheus Thanks this.
