Hopefully. An OTR gig with no inverter would be frustrating.

No they do not. And they do not install them.

I heard they used to have APU's but I have only ever seen 2 trucks with them

yep, they did away with APU's the reason being they aren't cost effective.

Best for a new driver that's into electronics is go with company that has APU's. You want the APU for TV, computer, X-box, etc. There several that hire new CDL grads.

Here's a few companies with APU's; there's more also if some other drivers will post:

    Maverick
    Melton Truck Lines
    Navajo Express
    J.R. Schugel
    TransAm
    System Transport

Thanks everyone I'm into electronics but more concerned with having a fridge microwave coffee maker kind of stuff. Do Werner drivers have any way of cooking in their truck? or is it all fast food and truck stop kind of food?

I never eat fast food. I drive for werner. I am fortunate enough to be on a dedicated route and home on the weekends. I can't speak for setting things up for OVR and being out weeks at a time. I pre make most of my food. Put it in my plug in fridge. I have a burton cooker I bought at a truck stop about 50 bucks plugs into a 12 volt outlet. Works well as a slow cooker and will actually heat up to around 350. It has a tray and i can steam veggies with it, I did a stuffed Cornish game hen the other day. Also did homemade chicken cordon blue. There are quite a few threads here about cooking in the truck

It's funny. As I just typed that I am sitting eating breakfast at country pride at the TA. I never eat at truck stops when I am on the road. But wife and son wanted to come here for breakfast today LOL
