And I'm sorry, I don't think prayers and God have anything to do with this. Where was the love of God 3 seconds before this happened? Of course, I always ask that question in a disaster, and no one ever has an answer.
There's an answer. Although you and others might not like the answer, but I believe it to be the truth. It goes like this...

The "love of God" was still present BUT we created beings are living in a fallen, imperfect world. This mixed up world is the root of the problem, and God does not intervene many situations, at least not in a way that we can be sure about (like an outward miracle).

People that hate this kind of disaster, any kind of disaster, should not shake their fists at God in anger (not to imply that you are), they should hate what has caused the disaster, which is the fallen world, and should actually want to draw closer to God, who in reality, hates the state of this fallen world more than any human can imagine.

Bottom line: God is on OUR side, acts in a manner that He sees fit (Holy), although we usually can't see it or understand it, yet this fallen world has turned it all around to make it seem like God is in opposition to us and is not doing anything about it. In actuality, He actually HAS done something about it!

That's the best way I can answer this without getting all "religious".

If incorrect it wouldn't be a false assumption, it would be a deliberate lie. There is no method by which to so rapidly determine if a driver was fatigued unless they admitted it, and he could be lying about that*.

Few things seem to bring out the dishonesty in people like motor vehicle operation, especially after a crash. It presents great difficulty determining what factors might have led to a crash. "I was tuning the radio" seems a popular but unlikely excuse.

*This should not be construed to indicate I believe the driver is lying, only that it cannot be excluded.

To get hired at one of the DC's in the Northeast is much easier than other parts of the country because of the lesser amount of qualified applicants applying for the job. Why do you think a driver from Georgia was working out of a DC in Delaware? At 35 years old, this driver has no where near the experience level most other Walmart drivers have. He had enough experience to get hired at a DC with far fewer qualified applicants than other DC's.

I feel bad for the driver because Bentonville does not stand behind their drivers when these type accidents occur. They tell drivers to not discuss details of an accident with the media, yet Bentonville is quick to make a press release to cover their butt. This driver will spend many years in prison for this accident. I bet Bentonville will have wished this driver had been in a Freightliner equipped with a OnGuard collision avoidance system, which current Peterbilts do not have, once the cost of liability for this accident is settled. It may have helped if this driver was distracted or fatigued.

If distracted driving played a part in this wreck, then Bentonville will get even more intrusive in drivers lives in the very near future.

No one on this forum has anything like enough information to make a determination. It is all useless speculation, just like the mainstream media.
The only fact I will grant is the fact that the NJ TPK is one of the most challenging roads in the country to drive safely.
But if history is any indication look for more regulation, ineffective or not.

Right. That's why no one possesses a license to drive.

    Thanks, Cap'n!

Your memory seems to have been honed to such a fine edge you can now easily remember that which has never happened.

Thanks Vito, that was cool. Are you sure you're not in one of those "travelling chapel's"? Even still, the 1st thing I'm going to ask, is why did bad things happen to good people? I was raised in a faith that I no longer follow, but left a lot of unanswered questions, and you summed it up pretty good. After all, being religious is part of every thing we do, even here. Thanks again:yes2557:

How about 'most dangerous'? They should have put a cap on how many trucks and cars can drive on it..oh wait I'm a 'Communist' who doesn't believe in 'free enterprise'...

There was a time when the turnpike ran very well and was civilized. But then deregulation came and the businesses in the NE moved in every direction and products had to be trucked back in. The answer for the economy was to build, now it's a total overloaded mess.

Morgan should have known better to take his private jet. I'm sure he has one or two sitting on the ground..

Because 'good' people don't defend themselves against bad people?
