Investigation has already proved the truck driver was on duty over 24 hours when he caused the wreck. HOS rules don't mean anything if they aren't followed.

Where are you getting your info from? All I have seen on OOIDA,Landline,TheTrucker, or any of the news sites I frequent, is that He was awake for over 24 hours. There was nothing about him being on duty. And they won't disclose how they came about with that information. Walmart uses Elogs, how exactly would he have been onduty for that long and not tripped a huge red flag automated response?

*Edit* I meant that politely, I'm not calling you out. I am trying to keep myself up to date with this. I just found out that that truck had the collision avoidance system on it, where it alerts the driver and also starts braking the truck. http://www.khou.com/news/business/262418891.html

I have a registered nurse degree and a respiratory therapist degree...worked in the medical field many years. It ain't all its cracked up to be. I like being a truck driver better! :)
My hubby has a respiratory therapy degree and an arts degree. He worked in the trauma unit for 25 years. He too likes trucking better.

College degrees with fat paychecks do not always make people happy. Just sayin'

Find what makes you happy..and do that.
