Far as getting into unforseen wrecks, maint issues etc etc...that is all a part of the business plan. It is not as simple and getting a truck and driving it off the lot and its happy owner operator time lol. There are tons of contingencies to plan for. Plan for anything before it happens.

Oh...and what do you do when the company you fleece purchase from gets pissed at you, for what ever reason...maybe nothing at all, and cut your miles and revenue....what then! Do you think you can take your truck to another carrier. NOT!!!!

And by the way....depending on your fleece purchase....you just cant WALK AWAY!! You signed a contract!! Walk away and find your credit ruined and probably in court getting sued and getting garnished somehow. These carriers have legions of attorneys that do this for them.

I am waiting for someone to actually mention a carrier that has a lease purchase that is right as rain. I mean the heavens open up, birds chirp with a pretty little rainbow at the end. I have seen almost every fleece purchase contract from about every major carrier that practices this style of predatory style lending and contractual obligations. Reading those leases is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Who is it exactly that is asking you to do a lease purchase? Don't like them? Don't do one. Simple. Or is your life so pitiful and pathetic, that all you know to do is to resurrect threads and comment on statements made YEARS ago?

    BigKid2 Thanks this.

You got burned by a bad mega company, but you signed the lease and now you're pissed at the world...You can't have possibly seen every deal out there but maybe you have. I forgot about the team of lawyers you have on retainer...actually I wonder if you have had any experience driving a truck...anyway with your silly avatar and all of your negative comments dude I got to tell ya you aren't bringing much to the conversation.

We all know your opinion on leases, point taken enough said. Please be quite.

Truth be known it was not I that was burned...but rather a few of my buddies that returned from serving in Afghanistan and got baited into the fleece purchase. I was in the service also (but not during that time). The real thorn in mi side is how can a company knowingly dump on people like that let alone do it to veterans! These guys were out of Ft. Reilly KS (3RD BDE/1ST Armor Div). These guys hauled and driven every manner of equipment including tanks. Serve there country...come home...get screwed over. Obviously you can understand my disappointment. The funny part is they all went with different companies. Each one of them got shafted...hard. Real sad.

With that being said I want someone to post a real honest to goodness VIABLE lease purchase. Please Omit the company name, your name and any other indicators that could reveal the company or you. Every single fleece purchase I have seen is a proverbial financial nightmare, and a massive liability for the driver.

    Prove me wrong!

...and you as an owner-operator are subject to the same market and financial forces as a lease-operator. I see just as many who completely own their own trucks loose their butts.

I too am a veteran, and thanks to you and your friends for your service. Don't take my next remark the wrong way. Your DD214 and $5.00 only entitles you to bad post-service medical care and a fancy cup of coffee.

Being a veteran doesn't mean much these days...many of us are here.

As far as leases... there's many bad ones out there but you can still make it as a guy I know made it with Prime. A lot of it is your drive and sacrifice.

Noone will sugar coat it, hand you a truck, give you a hug, bunch of time off and a big booty check... doesn't sound like you (moglar) should be looking at leases or being an o/o in the near future.... sorry just my $.02.

Poor moglar. If only he would do some research and come to ACT he would see that all his talking points would be unjustified

How about this? These were my numbers for the first 52 weeks at ACT. For the year of 2012 I made $112,000 net. Now those numbers included recruiting but I was averaging about .55 per mile to my bank without recruiting.
