can somebody please help me. I currently have a Class A license which I've had since 2008,
recently my time was up for my license to get renewed, most of the time it gets mailed to me,since I haven't got in any accidents
this time it didn't come so I went to my D.M.V and I was told that I have to take my general knowledge test and air Brakes and combos over before they give me my license back and the reason being that in 2013
I was not working so I couldn't pay child support I was looking for a job at this time so child support mail me a notice to suspend license pending a certain time so I borrowed some money and gave them a payment and they lifted the hold on my license
what happen was they did not do it in enough time before my license got suspended, and they ended up taking around 4 day after the suspension already was in affect so D.M.V said if anybody gets there license suspended with in two year period
before your license renewal they would have to retake all the tests again and since I have a Class A with endorsements anybody that knows about class a could tell you that's going to be a big load for me that's asking way to much from me
suspended license within the last two years of your renewal.

Take the tests again. Are you unable to do it? If so I'm unable to want you sharing the road with me.
Wharf Rat, ironpony and Skunk_Truck_2590 Thank this. -
Put down where you live in your profile as you are asking about a particular law that will vary from state to state.
-
if you did it once you can do it again.

Many companies aren't concerned if the suspension is for unpaid support or unpaid parking tickets, etc. Moving violations are a problem though.

I assume a license under suspension may not be renewed. If that is not the case, you may have an argument to plead.
If your license expired, you may have to test again. Some states may allow a grace period, but I think that was old school, maybe/probably not today.
If it expired while under suspension for non-traffic-related reasons, and you can wrangle some leeway there, finding the right people to wrangle may be difficult.
If you are unemployed your state employment service may be able to apply persuasion, if not leverage.
States are overflowing with cash for job seekers, for training, etc., and they're giving some away.
Some answers regarding license renewal may be available at your state DMV or legal code site.70s_driver Thanks this. -
