Looking for a good company

You are so right about that! CRST is a joke. Just starting out we thought that .24cpm was great until we got his first check. They were holding jobs (not paying them out), even though he had sent in transflow, and had confirmations. So I starting keeping track of all his jobs, all the miles, when he put the transflows in and when they should be paid, as well as his reimbursements for tolls, and truck expenses. I won't complain to much about it though. He got his CDL, and now he has a trade that he can take with him to better places. Besides, complaining won't do anything. CRST dispatchers have never been on a truck, don't understand anything about the truck, and they get to go home every night, so they don't give two shakes about what a driver and his family goes through.++

 

Does anyone have any idea about Wel Companies? We saw a job listing for them and can't really find to much out about them.

 

I forgot to add this little kicker...my husband use to smoke (weed). He just got a call back from Melton, but they want a hair follicle test and go back 4 years. He hasn't smoked for over a year, but he will not make the cut for Melton. That sucks.

 

I've heard a lot of bad things about Conway. Please fill me in. My husband said that when his company shut them down during the blizzard, Conway was still moving. Do they make you keep going or is it the driver's choice? I did see that Conway made the 10 ten of best companies to work for, but those things can be misleading. The main thing we are looking for, is that he can ride solo, have ride alongs, and get paid more then 32cpm to start.

 

What company do you work for? He is really trying to stay for his year. What part of the company works consistently and what would he make having his year? I'm trying to get all the info and research done for him since he is out and don't have WiFi. Makes me feel useful too. PM me the info if you don't want to post it.
