So I thought I would look at the local Dodge dealer in town just to see if by some slim chance they might have a 3500 laying around. To my surprise (not a big dealership) I saw online they had a 2013 3500 Laramie. I took a ride out to see it after hours and I must admit it is a pretty nice truck. It already has the hitch system I want and is pretty well loaded.
Asking price online is $52,995. I am seriously considering trading my F-450 for this one. I will look at it tomorrow when they are open and maybe take it for a spin.
Question - Is there any known problems with this year of 3500 that would not be desirable to use it for RV transport? I am not sure of the rear end ratio; I will check, but I presume it is 3.73; Auto trans; DEF.
What kind of fuel mileage should I expect?

So, went to look at the truck. It is a loaded Laramie with more bells and whistles than I would have ever wanted or need in a truck. When people said the Fords and Chevys where for "yuppies" or whatever, haven't seen this truck obviously. It has options I would have only imagined a caddy or lincoln to have. I told the salesman I couldn't even figure out how to turn off the radio. He had no idea either.
Some rather large and tall individual, farmer type, bought the thing brand new back in Feb 14 (yup, this year) and was too big for the truck. He pulled a gooseneck to haul his show tractors around and installed the exact hitch I wanted. He had it 6 weeks and traded it on another brand new one, but with a bench seat. This USED truck was discounted down to the price in my first post and had a whopping 2,300 miles on it. I figure he took a beating of around $20K on it.
Somehow though, it found its way into my driveway. -
Sweet! Post up some pictures.

That is a pretty nice truck. In regards to your first post all I've heard is problems with the DEF but won't be a problem for you for a while. How long till her first day working?

It'll be about 4 weeks. Gotta go through CDL school first.

Very nice truck! Congrats and thinking about making a similar purchase, but maybe not as good a deal as you got...
