I can't say for sure with palm trees but I have mesh tarps that I use on sod and occasionally trees. They keep the wind from ripping leaves or buds off. Regular tarps would cook the trees and smash them down breaking branches.

Yes they require what I call smoke tarps. They are like any other tree they will get wind burnt if not covered.

Was recently down to the Miami area and seen Palms that were trimmed down and these had no mesh covering. Seems that I recall one driver saying that is one of the only decent paying loads coming out of Florida. I just know I've never gotten anything paying from down there.

They're mesh tarps. Most trailer shops down here carry them as the sod and tree hauler use them. Too much work and loading and unloading time hauling trees for me.

Little off topic; a friend of mine bought an old house and lot in Florida. He was tearing the house down when some guy stopped and pointed at some palm trees and ask how much he would sell the trees for. He told the guy $100.00 and the guy paid him. Showed up later with some equipment and removed the trees. Problem is, they weren't my friends trees; they were on the lot next door. He claims he didn't lie, just told the guy what he would sell the trees for.

I'd love for someone to come buy my palm trees. Once I get my chain saw back together today it's going to be hard to resist cutting the ones in the back yard down. I hate palm trees.
