I have my 12 year old daughter on the truck with me right now.
It was funny.
The other day I had called my DM and he asked me which daughter I had on the truck.
I told him, Leann, my middle daughter and the one I got permission for.
He asked how old she was, because they got a call complaining that I had an 11 year old on the truck.
I said she is 12, my youngest is 10.
My 10 year old is actually 1 inch taller than her big sister. LOL.
Leann is just about(almost) 4'10" at 12 years, so a little short.
12 years is the youngest that can get permission to ride, and they require a birth certificate before they will authorize it.
And I am not so stupid as to get permission for the 12 year old and then swap out the 10 year old in her place. -
Different terminal have different rules

And they wonder why there's a shortage of good drivers.
realsupatrucka Thanks this. -
When I was OTR, I had three Level I inspections when I had a passenger in the truck. In Ohio, she was asleep in the bunk and the inspector never asked to look. In Virginia and Montana, the inspector never asked about her.

Too easy I guess. -
The guidance specifically says that the document must be maintained at the company's principal place of business, but also says that it is at the company's discretion whether a copy must be carried with the driver. That tells me that if the company doesn't require a copy to be carried with the driver, then it is legal for the driver not to have one. -
Again, why be so stubborn to not have a copy to protect yourself from a stupid action.
You might want to learn that things in the guidance area are not actual law and subject to their interpretations. -
