I've been paid percentage ever since I've been in tank. One of the big differences between companies is how they pay the accessorials, ie:demurrage (detention, layover), using truck pump or air for loading, unloading, excessive amount of hose etc. There are big differences on these things so be sure to ask any recruiter. Example:As a company driver I get $30.hr for demurrage while a Scheinder rookie driver I talked to recently told me he is paid $10.hr. So it pays to check.

I stay about 45m from the Decatur terminal. Been here 3.5 yrs, so yeah I like the company. I've carved my niche out, so the dispatchers who I deal with on a regular basis know how I run and where I want to go. As far as automatics go, the last 47 trucks bought are autoshift, but the rest of the fleet is manual. Dry bulk is a learning curve, so prepare yourself.

I put an app in online for the Decatur Al terminal and spoke with Kelsey in recruiting. She said call back in a few days after info is processed. Hope all goes well.

Not sure about the pay/benefits structure south of the border, but Trimac pays quite well here in Canada. To my understanding, remuneration is determined regionally. If they are busy and are short drivers, pay will be much better than in a soft economic area. They have one of the best pension and benefits packages in the industry. There are no easy days, but if you put in hard work, good money can definitely be made.

Not really, but we get a minimum of 1450 bucks a week plus accessorial pay so it really doesn't matter.
