Shower every morning, why wouldn't you? When I was with my trainer we showered twice a day, because we had to swap seats anyways we just pulled into a truck stop, went in and one of us would eat breakfast while the other ate his dinner, we'd sit and talk about what all the other needed to know for his shift, then bs and laugh about what had happened on our shifts, then go in and take showers before one hit the road and the other hit the sack. The truck was constantly moving, so we were constantly fueling, and we never put more than 50 gallons in at a time to get the most shower points possible, we were actually gaining more and more shower points even using 2 points a day. It's really not that difficult to have a relaxed time out there like this, the trainers that try to run their students and themselves into an early grave are doing so for just a couple dollars more a paycheck. It's completely asinine, and yes you should dump the ####### if he's being anything at all like that, why would you put up with it?

I try to safe money I bring enough food for whatever the trip is including training that's insane twice a day. I can deal with ever other day or every few.

Yeah, I agree, twice a day is a bit much. Every other day is just fine for sitting in the a/c all day just driving. I try every other day.

Lol. When I was with my trainer we did that, a shower before bed and a shower when waking up, we were stopped anyways and one was going to take a shower to wake up so why not make it a team shower? Now I just take one every morning like normal, but realistically there's no reason not to take one each day, you're stopped and sleeping, when you wake up your hours haven't reset yet, you have time to grab breakfast and a shower before hitting the road so why not? You're not legally allowed to drive until those hours reset anyways. If you're pulling 8-2 splits all the time, then you take your showers on your 2 hr off duty breaks. It's just being stubborn to go without a shower, trying to claim the super trucker of the year award or something, that's if they gave rewards out for being stupid.

Well there have been many, many a night where I was either not at a truck stop or the truck stop wasn't a PFJ. I have never paid for a shower. If none are available, one does a baby wipe shower.

Stop at the nearest truck stop in route, or when you fuel for the day, then take your shower.

Same with me. I think Central required 30 backs. If I actually did 15 I would be surprised. There just weren't very many backing opportunities. In fact, my confidence in backing up a tractor trailer didn't come until after I left Central and took a local job. Now I ain't a superstar, often using a pull-up, but hey, nothing get's destroyed in the process and that is what counts.

I had 1 time when logs changed drive time back to sleeper berth. Sitting in a bad thunder storm and lighting messed up quallcom. Showed me moving 350 miles in 10 minutes. The guy in the log department got a good chuckle out of that and changed it back. Took my tin foil hat off and went back to bed.:yes2557:
