Hi Friends,
- How many of you guys/gals KEEP a laptop in the Truck?
- If so, how do you keep it safe from damage?
- I also noticed that a lot of people are on this forum (i see about 1-400 PPL at a time). Are guys on the road?
I was wondering because, staying online for me would be a big factor in keeping my sanity and staying in touch with what's going on in the my world.
thanks!

I have a laptop in my truck. Cant say ive worried much about my laptop being damaged. Its secured tightly in place and short of wrecking the rig, its not going anywhere. Verizon wireless seems to have the vest overall data coverage, i have an 8gb data plan and rarely find that im without access to the internet. Iuse my smart phone far more often than my laptop.

I currently have two laptops in my truck. One for me and one for my student that I use pilot/flying js wifi for the month on. I have a tv and an xbox 360 and xbox one with games. ALOT of books and DVDs that I need to stop wasting time and read so I can drop off at home. Also have a phone with hotspot for times that I cant make it to a truck stop for the night. Entertainment is very important out here to stay sane. I use to have a printer/copier/scanner and a shredder for important mail from home but I threw both out recently.
If you have your items in a safe place while driving no damage should come to them. -
Couldn't live without my laptop, tablet, PS Vita, and 3DS (well... maybe I could live without the 3DS.)
Damage isn't an issue. Laptops (decent ones, anyway) are built to be mobile and can take more vibrations and jarring than desktop units. -
Laptop? Yes. 17" screen. I set it on the steering wheel. Anything larger makes it hard to see the traffic in front of me.
Honch, allniter, Cetane+ and 1 other person Thank this. -
SHO-TYME, Cetane+, passingthru69 and 1 other person Thank this.
