right now its less than a foot away from the CB, and about that much under the dash cam. however, it was just moved there in the last few days. it was hanging up when well over 2-3 away from both devices. the TND 760 is right next to the dash cam on the roof off the cab and does not have this problem. it is still hanging up but no more or less than it seemed to do before the move.

edit to add: it WAS right next to the 760 but now they are about two feet apart. again, no noticeable change in the amount of times its hanging up. seems to be doing so about 7-12 times a day

760 gets it input signal from the Tri-mode antenna. The 720 receiver is on the top of the unit in the middle. A dash cam will affect the stand alone GPS's.

    1. Run the 720 with the CB off and the Dash Cam unplugged and off. See if it affects the issues.

    2. On the Dock with the 720 connected to the computer, under Tools, run the D/R. You may have a corrupted file.

Need to limit the electronics that is on and running to a minimum to see if that is affecting the 720.

DO you have any overhead metal? Such as the front visor on the outside?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Yes, this is a mack with a metal visor. the 720 is mounted at the dash so to be able to see as much sky as possible. will try your other suggestions and get back to you with the results.

That could be the issue. I would suggest running the external antenna. It plugs in on the back side.

I checked the USB port on the TND and it looked fine. I decided to just get another TND 720.

no change. was still seeing random freezes with all electronics off as well as on. don't believe its an outside source. have not tried running D/R you suggested yet. that will be in the AM. if that doesn't fix the problem ill try the outside ant.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.
