Can you haul 1-2in pieces of metal and c&d fines In The same type of trailer.

Can you use an aluminum dump trailer to haul pieces of metal that small.

    Anyone ever haul these products

I don't see why you couldn't. Of course you need to tarp, those fines blow all over like crazy.

Why couldn't you? As long as it can be loaded into the top and it will come out the back, it can be hauled. Might not be smart to drop 100# rip rap into an aluminum bed, though...

yes you can haul the smaller pieces of scrap BUT it will wear the floor out over time.metal shavings/turnings are the least abrasive metal material to haul.

i haul scrap and see the damage metal does to non lined aluminum floors not to mention the huge dents/holes derived from the loader dropping the bushelings or hard scrap from well above the trailer sides. damage to the unlined floors can be done from dropping the load in from a more normal height as well. i've had loaders drop the material from so high that it literally bounced the entire truck.yeah i jumped out and asked what the f was he doing-

some metal loads won't slide out the tail gate well,if at all as it jams/clogs up) if the gate is in the swing out position.I try to set mine up to swing(open) side to side for the bulkier metal loads and the smaller metal loads i use the tilt/swing out position for the tail gate. thank goodness for 3 way gates-

Do you run under your own authority or leased on to someone? I was going to lease on to a company that does alot of scrap but their rates seemed kinda low for the damage that could happen to my wagon.
