Hauling....anywhere from red Mike's is too long of a turn for water lol. Plus, wind river and red Mike's being down a six ton road is just hilarious.

I'm so sick of this rain. And I don't even mind the mud so much as how absurdly muggy it gets when the sun inevitably comes out after. I feel like I'm back in the south.

Thanks for this thread. More info for making decisions. I have a question mainly for bknight. Is MBI constantly busy or is there considerable down time with drivers waiting for loads?

I am going to be losing my job after 24 years with the same company because of the bad economy in CA for fence contractors and the owner shutting us down. I knew it was coming so I have been working on getting my CDL and will have it by next week.. I was born and raised on a farm in ND so I know about the weather. Also, I have cousins that have been trucking there since the boom started. They both suggested MBI for a newbie like me. I need to find a rotation position that gets me back to CA every few weeks as I have a house in I need to finish remodeling to sell. Also, I was thinking about getting on a frac crew since I also have a good mechanical back ground with some pump experience from years ago. I would really like to get on hauling crude (my cousin made $114k in crude last yr) but it looks like I have to get some experience before I can do that.

Sorry for the long post but trying to do my homework as this is a big change after sitting behind a desk for a few years. Last item, I have been driving a 10 speed truck and noticed some companies are using 13 and 18 speed. Is 13 & 18 speed the majority or the exception? I know I can deal with it but want to prepare.

    Thanks again.

MBI babysits the workers to try to control every step of operating the truck. For a totally new person that is exactly what you need. US veterans, lol 6 months you are considered a veteran water hauler, we have our own steps and we know from practice how to not make a mess. MBI has a zero spill policy, even for a drop. If after 6 months you don't like the constant watching you can move on, or stay if you don't mind it

    chaz7r Thanks this.
