@Fandango. Can you bill them for load time if your numbers dont work? If you ask them to pay every time they have allocation problems and they say "no", then you can bet they know they have problems.

I've no idea as I've never been in the position to query that, becasue I was a company driver at the time. That would have to be calculated by the carrier as in Mission or Coastal. You could look into the possibility of demurrage, if the driver spends a great deal of time at the rack. But usually the driver eats the first hour in that case, unless the company was really aggressive and pursued that line of compensation. The only entity that suffers is the customer we are delivering to. It's just one big "song and dance"
If I was an O/O then I would certainly have something to say. None of these antics make any sense. It's just poor business practices.
Susser knows they have problems but sometimes ignorance is bliss and they just turn a blind eye to it. -
I've applied to gopetro, and was wondering how long would it take to hear any word about the application?

Allocation is also an issue here in the Northeast, Don't feel to bad. It's something that confronts guys on a daily basis.
I just wish there was an effective way to find out what the remaining allocation is before driving to the terminal. -
It could anytime from a week to a month, depending on how they go about checking you out. They have to get replies from former employers, or the ones you gave permission to approach and on top of that they will run your DAC as well as your MVR. I predict also that it's only a matter of time that we will all have to get a TWIC card irrespective of whether we enter a port or a facility near a waterway. That's just another piece of BS we will have to endure thanks to the Govt.

Hello...I'm new to this forum, however, I wanted to apply to the company. My felony conviction is over 10 years old. I have one misdemeanor which happened 3 years ago. Would I waste my time by applying, or should I say, will the company insure me. I'm looking for a company I can substantially provide for my family, a company I can retire from, however my blemishes often prohibit many great job opportunities. I only want a chance, with a new lease on life.
Thanks,
Big Truck Driver -
I remember Mark! I think he's Irish... I worked with him in Austin when we worked for Dupre.... Great guy
