Redman30 and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
Speaking of escorts. ......I'm sure some drivers wouldn't want a family member knowing what they may or may not do on the road
RAGIN CAJUN, Redman30, ChefBrianN and 1 other person Thank this. -

Yep, if he's running into a port you definitely need the TWIC card or dad has to shell out about $50 every trip for an escort or leave you standing on a curb somewhere.
Companies have age restrictions. Their insurance lays down the rules.
I'd say dad would like to take you but his job won't allow it. Instead of explaining all the details he found it easier to tell you that you have to be 18. A little white lie. -
"Hey Joe, did you hear the escorts down at the port go for $50?" Joe's reply "Which ones? The ones inside the port or outside? "
passingthru69 Thanks this. -
I call the TWIC escorts "babysitters" They watch you worse than the sitters you might of had when you were a little kid..

Sorry but I have to post this, I had a bad day dealing with idiots.
I am against any kids in the truck for any reason, I find them to be distractions to the driver, and I have had two near misses with trucks who had kids fiddling ****** around in the cab while it was moving.
The other day, the truck next to mine with the driver in the T/S had a kid fall out of the truck going to look for his father. The father after 30 minutes in the T/S didn't seemed to be too concerned about it, but the cops were. He was taken away in an ambulance with at least one broken leg. I left as soon as I could but no kids in the truck for me.
