And how exactly were you forced? Were they in the cab with you? Gun point? Break fingers until you started driving? Make you listen to justin Bieber until you delivered the load?
No one can make you do anything, you allow them to. Plain and simple. I've had dispatch try and get me to "slide the load on in" I told them I'll start rolling when my breaks up and hung the phone up and went to bed. Know what happened? Not a #### thing. The load was rescheduled and I was never again asked to "slide a load in" ever again.
Grow a backbone man and stand up for yourself.
what happens when out of hours at receiver?

Only two things do I remember clearly. I ran out of hours when empty in Chicago at an oil place.
I parked as out of the way on the driveway as I could get. The security guard said I couldn't park there. But another driver backed me up and that is where I took a ten.
Another time I went to a water warehouse in St Louis. I parked with all the other guys and ran out of time before they gave me a door. In the middle of the night like 1AM I get a call telling me to back into a door. But I was in the midst of a ten and wasn't moving that truck.
In the morning the dock was not empty. I left there empty and got a call some 4 hours later asking what had happened. I told the guy and that was the end of that.
In New Jersey I asked if I could park and take a ten. And they told me where I could park.
The Chicago deal sounds closest to what the OP was asking. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. If they call the cops It's your logbook against the company. The cop (unless he or she is a REAL Jerk) won't make you move. -
Paper log or elog? You can bump into a dock without triggering elog.
