Hello everyone! I am new to this whole blog thing so I hope I am doing it right. I have been driving locally for a long time and my family and think it is time for a change. We are sick of the New England Winters. We are thinking of North Carolina or even South Carolina. Does anyone know a good company with good benefits? I hear good things about Harris Teeter. I know they just merged with Kroger but does anyone have anymore info on them. I am not afraid to do physical labor. Thanks to all.
North Carolina Jobs? Harris Teeter?

Blue Line Food Service has a terminal in Greensboro, North Carolina. Good benefits. Something I've never heard of is they have "adoption reimbursement" benefits.
Cardinal Logistics does the transportation for many grocery warehouses. I worked for them briefly during transition period and the drivers were making a grand a week on average. Drivers doing the back hauls only, were doing better. Cardinal has terminals all over the USA. I worked for them in my home state of Tennessee. Moved to Las Vegas area now for year round summertime weather.
Thousand a week may not sound like much, but the cost of living in the South/Southwest is cheap.Severno Thanks this. -
Thank you very much Chinatown. Yes, I used to work for Airgas and I know that they treat you pretty well but my current job has me working 4 longer days which I like a lot more. It is nice to have three days off. I have heard of Cardinal as well as Blue Line. I do have a tanker as well as my doubles and triples but I never really utilized them. Once again thank you. It is very much appreciated.

Even though I have my endorsement I have little to no experience with it. My TWIC card just expired too. I have no issue doing it but I was hoping for something a little more physical or else I will blow up like a tick. lol My wife works currently but we were hoping that she wouldn't have to work down there so she could watch our kids that is why the benefits were pretty important to me. Hopefully, if we can pull this off we might even have a third.

If you have hazmat and tanker, there's also Puryear in the Raleigh area, although I don't know a whole lot about them, except that they deliver AC oil to asphalt plants, among other things.

Mabe Trucking, Fleetmaster Express, Carolina Freightways and Millis Transfer are all in Eden, NC... JL Rothrock in Greensboro, also Mclane Foodservice and Sygma Foodservice in the Charlotte area... Mclane also has a grocery distribution center in Battleboro, NC... And Food Lion has a dc in Salisbury, just to rattle off a few... Hope that helps you at least a little bit
