Company pitches decoy cop cars

they have a "dummy" car on 69/75 in OK. lol i've also seen them on other highways with "now hiring" on the side.

 

How long will it take the crooks or lawbreakers to find out they are fake cars?? They will probaly steal them sell for junk iron.

 

Here, in NC, the Highway Patrol has some old, out of service, cruisers they use as psychological deterrents in construction zones, and such.

As an added enhancement they are equipped with solar panels on the rear deck to keep the batteries charged so the emergency lights can flash continuously.

I'm liking the Crown Vic hubcaps, and especially those solar panels.:smt077

Gah - my latin is SO old.

Personally, I think the only place this MIGHT do some good is in a high-traffic area. For a day or two. People who live/work inteh area will know darn quick it's bogus. People driving through will take a few days to figure it out.

Years ago here on I80 there was a great billboard that was advertising some airline. It proudly stated OUR TICKETS ARE CHEAPER THAN THEIRS, and right below the billboard was a dummy cop car. It slowed cars down for months and months.

 

they used to have a sign draped across a trailer south of the tpk in big cabin OK saying "speed trap ahead" now it says "speed ZONE ahead" LOL

 

LOL i guess the local politicians had a fit. although the h'way is so bad you cant go very fast anyway
