I saw a Werner pulling the doubles, he must have had his fifth wheel way forward. His mudflap was all bent up and there was no way he could make a turn without hitting the landing gear . But, he didn't have his radio on, if he had one .

That's inexperience of pulling sets right there. If you pull a pup set fifth wheel to the back on a twin screw axle truck.

More unions destroying businesses. Happening currently at my trucking company that hauls for a unionized bakery, they are outsourcing a lot of jobs since it'll be cheaper and frankly they'll do a better job. Too much to get into.

Actually I did just a couple days ago on I-81 somewhere east of Carlisle, PA. The idea of some newbie Wiener driver sashaying down the road with a trailer set isn't exactly comforting. Hopefully they're a little careful who they allow to do that...pups like to turn over.

My company can't find reliable teams to run for 58cpm. We almost lost a Chicago - Orlando team meet because the Chicago team "couldn't do it anymore". They almost outsourced the whole run to an OTR company until at the last second they decided to run a solo driver meet between Chicago and Nashville and have our team pick up the set at the Nashville terminal. This is a 6800mile/week run, almost $2000 GROSS, I REPEAT 2000 GROSS WEEKLY. Yet they can't find people to do it.

Yet CRST gets newbs by the truckload to team in their decrepit Freightshakers. WTF?

ABF trailers have forward set landing gear and really aren't designed to be pulled by twin screws. They say "No tandem tactors" on the nose.

If it was a Werner truck there's a good chance it didn't even have a sliding 5th wheel.

All Werner trucks, with a few exceptions, have sliding fifth wheels. They might have been too lazy to move it back.
