^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ wow one out of 30000 drivers and someone spreads it like its all of us. One video clip doesn't prove anything but a bad driver and every company has those.

I know this is an old post but didn't you say that Celedon is pushing for speed reduction in D. C.?

The sick part is the very last part imo because the lawyer throws that if you've been in injured by a big rig call a lawyer part into the story like they really care but subconsciously they are giving people the green light to go out and try their luck with a big rig.
The story was very important and it also says how shallow the driver pool really is yet no one will pay the driver more than they can get away with.

Well I drive dc every day sometimes and usually the traffic limits my speed to about 30 mph so I don't see what lowering the speed limit will accomplish accept to waste money on signs . As for the video that guy is already fired if the man who recorded it turned into jb . Jb does not tolerate that kind of behavior you may make it through orientation but if you get your own truck and then start hitting everything in sight you will be looking for a new job .

I am not a driver, but I do work for a major 3PL.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has so many issues with the JB Hunt dispatch! They generally are incredibly difficult to get in contact with without spending 25 minutes on hold, and answering e-mails? Forget about it. (Though this is also the case with almost any major carrier or 3PL out there...swft, hjbt, cdnk, rbtw, and oh god...arnold.)

To a few who I saw trashing the dispatch simply because simply because they spoke to a 20-something when they called their dispatch, do you think this abnormal? Or even a bad thing? I have known, and know plenty of people of all ages who were #### at their jobs. I'm 24 and work my ### off. Enough so that when my entire department was outsourced I was the first to receive a new job offer from one of our accounts when the majority of the people on my team are twice my age. The point being, age means nothing, only values and work ethic.

Next, I see numerous complaints that JB Hunt ###### them over because they had 24..48..72 hour waits. Maybe this is where the drivers perspective is skewed, as you all don't see what goes on behind the computer screens. This is an extremely common thing, I deal with multiple cases every day which require a driver to wait for an extended period of time. However, if a driver misses his appointment due to personal error I don't have a lot of sympathy. Will I make an effort to sort it out for you? Absolutely, that is unless you call me screaming and cursing and generally being a dick then I will do the minimum amount of work required of me...which means confirming what the shipper/receiver told you and making note. If you call me and act reasonably, I will do everything I can do get you rolling as I can imagine how terrible it must be to be stuck in a confined space for days at a time. What it really comes down to is there are too many variables (and a ###### non-standardized system of transportation) for things to go right even MOST of the time. Any given load may be worked on by anywhere from 5-20 people at different companies. One person would make plenty of mistakes, but when you have the same load changing hands so many times, it's not hard to see why so many problems arise.

tl;dr; JB Hunt is no more or less terrible than any major corporation in transportation or otherwise. And treat your dispatchers and 3PLs with a little bit of common courtesy, and a lot of your issues may just melt away.

If there was ever going to be a trucking strike it is too late now. There are thousands of Mexican truck drivers all over the United States right now, and all it would take is for OBAMA to sign another executive order making all of them U.S. citizens so they could park their trucks and take your jobs.

I know this is an old post so I'll update something. I graduated truck school one year ago. Drove on a dedicated account with Schneider a few months. Then ended up with Jb hunt at the same account. Ever since day one of having my cdl I have been a home every daily driver. I have never had a pay issue, they give me (plus or minus $30) each week from what I was told when I got hired. Whenever I ask for a day off (any reason at all) they give it to me, and set me up with an extra load prior to the day I asked for so that my pay check would not suffer. They treat me with respect and listen to my input and I actually see the results of my advice being used. I'm sure other areas of the company aren't as respectful to the drivers but I am lucky to have what I have. People would be surprised at how well I'm paid and still get home everyday. I'm not a trainer, I'm not an owner operator. Just a regular company driver with Jb hunt DCS.
