Going south on 35W exit 30, at the bridge turn left, after crossing the bridge turn right. There will be a Texas Roadhouse BBQ on that corner with a convienience store After you turn right its about a half mile on the left. If coming from the hotel, leaving the hotel parking lot, Turn left, follow service road 5-6 miles, Millis terminal will be on the right. If you cant find it there is a problem, you should have no problem locating it. The large white Millis sign and all the burgundy trucks are a dead giveaway.

    DAY 17

Well yesterday I went to take my Drive Test. I Failed. No way to sugar coat it.

I was shifting beautifully. Made my turns beautifully. But on my Parallel Park I was a smidgeon (I mean a HAIR) over the white line. It really bites because, I had been nailing my parallel park in practice so it was one thing I had no concern about. I don't know what happened to me.

At least I passed the airbrakes test part and don't have to re-do that. I will be going out OTR with my trainer and I will reschedule to come back through town and retake the drive test in my trainer's truck.

The thing that sucks about doing a blog like this, is my botched attempt stands illuminated for the whole world to see. lol. At least I'm honest.

Hakuna Matata. I'll get it next try. I know exactly what I did wrong. I cut the wheel right just a tad too late, and it sent my rear tandem just a tad over the line when I cut back underneath the truck. Why didn't I do it the same as during practice. Oh well, water under the bridge.

That was yesterday. Harold let me leave and go home a day early. The rest of the students will test today. Good luck guys.

Harold gave me my ComData card before I left. So I'm ready to rock and roll on the next phase. I'm kinda hoping my trainer takes a few days to call me so I can tie some stuff up before I head out.

good luck on the road. I've been following your progress as I'm slated to be in the 1st class at MTI Edan NC in Sept. I want to get a jump on training. Its hard to sit on my hands for the next month and a half.

    Keep up the posts :)

    Good News.

Since I'm bored here while waiting for a trainer to call, I decided I didn't have anything better to do. So, I rescheduled my CDL Drive Test and retook it this morning. PASSED!

I'm so glad. Even though I'm sure I would have gotten it just fine whenever I did it, it's such a relief to not have it hanging over me any more. I can go out on the road with my trainer and not stress about it. I did not want to have to burden my trainer with bringing me back through Texas to do it.

That monkey is off my back. I can concentrate 100% on my next task at hand. I've got a boat-load of stuff to learn with my trainer and I'm ready to rock-n-roll. I have to admit I have some anxiety about it. Even if he's the greatest thing since slice bread, it will no doubt be hard on both of us to be in such close quarters for so long. I wouldn't call myself anti-social because I'm extremely friendly, but am somewhat of a hermit and not the greatest at small talk. I have a feeling a lot of people become truckers for just that reason; they do better solo than in groups. So I'm probably not alone in that. But I hope if I have a good attitude and am respectful and eager to learn, then I will get the same respect and attitude back. I'm sure it will go great.

That hurdle is cleared. Happy Dance!

I wish i could tell you. I don't have a clue about that. I do suggest your totally upfront and honest. If they find you covering something it's worse than the act itself. I'd talk to a recruiter about it. Good luck friend. :)
