i think that will be true maybe for a couple of months but at the rate things are changing around there i think, at least as far as policy and operational info is concerned after a few months out anything I have in that regard will become irrelevant. i still can advise on customers, routing, who has parking ect....i'll still be watching the thread. I gave them a lot of loyalty, dedication and good service for just over 3 years.
I still maintain it's a good place to get your foot in the door and get good training. the trainers are a good group of guys for the most part and they'll teach you well. the areas they run and the number of customers they have who were not designed to take a 53 will make a driver out of you or end your career lol it's a company that many stay at and retire from and that's a rare thing in the industry and it works for a lot of people. the pay is certainly better than average for newbies and if you learn the system and get a good dm you can easily do mid 40's first year
however, once you get 2+ years in and keep your nose clean and have 0 csa points, no tickets, no violations, a couple clean inspections, no incidents, there are some really lucrative opportunities that open up. I could have easily stayed there and dealt with the issues and just been annoyed from time to time and stayed in that comfort zone.....not like I need the raise i'm getting I have a nice income independent of the truck.......but as many things in life, no risk, no reward. I'm risking getting out of that comfort zone that I was safe in and taking a chance on a real reward. only time will tell if it was the right decision but I never do anything blindly and without doing my due diligence so I think I made the right choice.

I posted on here awhile ago and was talkign to sdaniels is he still here???( at epes) I was asking due to I am wondering if things are different here at EPES?? I applyed several months ago and was accepted but not know if I would be home for weekends or mid week for 34hr restart made it undecided for me....I didnt know if that has changed? I Live in Vermont....I know ...the virius state of the world......but looking for good company OTR TO go with all the ones up my area for lack of better term are low rating..........any insight for anyone could help me.....thanks
-
Nope he isn't there anymore. A bunch of us are gone now. That in itself should attest to how much and how fast things are changing......and not to our liking.
34 can be weekends. Or midweek. Of first of week. Or end of week. Or not at all. Just depends on when you go out, what your load in is, where you are, and who your DM is. Too many variables to say for sure unless you're deemed one of the 'golden children' who always seem to go where they want, when they want, and always get in on Friday and don't leave until Monday. -
As I stated above, I love Epes, they love me, its a very happy marriage. I don't go home every weekend though (my choice). I bet there aren't 5 people that run more miles than me, in the entire company. So, I'm not looking for any other job. If you have been accepted, take it and try it. What have you got to lose?

thanks icyhot1966... do you run up north to my area at all??? do you know a good dispatcher I could talk to there?? I have talk to ....um.....gees just forgot her name in recruting ( seems nice though) but want to get a DM or FM point of veiw with all these yrs of exp. I feel its good to talk before jumping ....dont you agree??
-
Talk to Tina. She's one of the best. Yes we run up to your area a lot. I think you'd do quite well here. Those that have left the company, for whatever reason, really is not indicative of anything, except they weren't happy. Those that are happy far outweigh those that are not.
