Good luck man. Check on trailers that are coming from Mexico. I heard of some steel ones for only 37 brand new.

Wait till all the big carriers continue to move in and take all the good paying jobs. Stevens, Maverick, and I think even FFE. Thats gonna be bad for business. I can feel it.

Try calling Phone number deleted for the Mexican hookup on those metal trailers. He told me theres a 10 week waiting list to get them delivered to you.

I run a sand truck here in Alberta, Canada. The driver pay up here is usually $30/hr and OT after 10 hrs a day with a garentee of 14 hrs per day which amounts to $480/day. I've been looking into maybe working winters in Texas and summers in Alberta but I'm not sure I can survive the pay cut! I've been talking to a company in Texas that says their drivers average $2500/wk, does this sound about right to anyone?

Yes, very attainable to gross 3k a week, sometimes more. Just don't plan on a simple 14hr day. Also depends what company your working for and who your pulling the sand for.

You will not make as much anywhere in the US as you do in Alberta unless you're running longer and working harder. You lucky Canadians (and the Americans who got worker status before the new laws came into effect this year) have it good up north.

Hell, if the Canadian government hadn't passed their new $1000 "application fee" per person that any employer has to pay to even attempt to hire an American, I'd be up there right now.
