"If there was a business that catered to the Trucking Industry and only hired felons recently coming out of jail or on work release and paid them a true living wage would you frequent such a business? Would that kind of business model appeal to the industry at all?" This business would be giving recent felons a second chance at life to those who really want a second chance.

There are companies that do hire felons. As for a living wage, no, most of them won't pay that. Insurance companies dictate hiring standards in most cases.

I have no problem with the felon part but what type of business are you looking at?

There's a few trucking companies that hire felons and even those just released from prison. They must complete a CDL school and pass a drug test to be hired. A 160 hr. CDL school is recommended.

If it is a business that has services that does not involve the felon getting inside the tractor, most likely no problem. Getting inside the tractor, maybe a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I am writing the business plan now and will reveal the type later. I needed input regarding if people would use the services regardless of type first based upon the manpower pool I am going to build around this idea namely recently released felons. I can not advertise the name or anything unless I become an advertiser here which I will do at the proper time. Any other insight would be helpful. To the person asking about getting in the tractor the answer is no they would not be doing that. There will be security measures and protocols in place etc for everyone's protection.
