I am thinking about running team with central.. My partner and I will be fresh out of school. How does their training work? training pay? How long is training? Also are the miles good with them? If anyone knows of a better company to run team with please let me know. I actually have a yr exp but have not driven since 2007 so I am going through another course here in my hometown.

It will be interesting to see what you pick up here. Ever since Swift took over the day to day operation of Central Refrigerated it has become an entirely new company and not the one I drove solo for back in 05-06.

Don't do team with central or work for central at all. Drive for roehl as a solo driver and ull be much farther ahead, they have some teams also.

The only time teaming really works with these big companies is if you are husband / wife, boyfriend/ girlfriend and the money is going into the same pot. The pay to the truck willl be low then you have to split it. I would recommend running solo first get some experience learrn the roads across the country and then team with a smaller coast to coast fleet. Or go with landstar if you buy your own truck.. just my 2 cents.

    There's several better; try these:

    Tyson Foods
    US Express
    Old Dominion
Benny Whitehead Trucking - lots of West Coast/Florida turns.
Covenant is good for teams with hazmat endorsements.
    SVTN
Schneider Bulk (tanker division & have CDL school reimbursement)
    Cedar Creek Trucking in Dalton.
Lily Transportation - avg. 6000 miles per week.

Any website that has "experience required", ignore it and apply anyway. Trucking companies are hurting for drivers, especially teams and are bending their own hiring rules right now.
