Go to the front of your truck. The permit number is your base plate.

    Scooter15801 Thanks this.

Thought you have to carry the paper showing the permit in your truck or that is a possible violation? Mine isn't just the plate number - it also has the ON (for ontario) behind it ... example plate is 1231RF and permit is 1231RFON .... may want to check ... not sure how it shows for US carriers ... can the same plate number exist but be from 2 different states?

You do have to carry it. It's a violation if you don't
