Not once they realize what other drivers make with other companies. I had a buddy who stayed 2 yrs with Werner after Trucking school and then walked away without even trying a decent company.

I never heard one single student that went there come back with a good report on Werner. Just bad reports of trainers that are pigs, dirty truck, trainer in the sleeper sall the time instead of training the the new kid. One student tried to get his trainer out of the bunk because he was on bad roads, he would not get up. Guess what the student rolled it and got fired. BUYER BE WARE

Honestly, you'd probably run into the same situation with any of the mega starter companies. It's big bureaucracy more than anything conspiratorial. IMO. The bigger the company, the smaller the office cubicles and willingness to actually think outside them; rather than just follow the path of least resistance which is whatever the next thing on the computer screen tells the automaton to do. Try thinking like a bureaucrat. Fax everything (even what they already have) to the shop foreman with a note on the coversheet: URGENT CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL. FOR MEDICAL/HR PERSONELL ONLY. IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS IN ERROR YOU ARE REQUIRED UNDER HIPPA REGULATIONS TO IMMEDIATELY TAKE IT TO THE CLOSEST HR SUPERVISOR.

Maybe shop guy just throws it in the trash. Maybe it blows HIS bureaucrat mind and he takes it around and gets someone to think outside their cubicle trying to figure out something that "does not compute". You get the idea. They are used to blowing off calls, not returning them, shuffle more electronic paper, go to the next screen; whistle blows: lunch break, come back and do it again til quitting time. Gotta do something they can't just "point, click, ignore" whatever that is and honestly: that's all the megas. It either slides right through the bureaucracy (which is cool, cause if you got bureaucracy down pat you can make that happen by anticipating) or it gets "put aside" as something to MAYBE work on whenever they get a chance between the ten tons of stuff that IS sliding right through. Sux and it ain't right or fair. But you gotta think of a way to bust someone's bureaucracy bubble and get them to actually think and communicate effectively with someone in another cubicle. Good luck with that at any mega.

What a shame. I remember years ago, Werner was a good company. Had long hood Pete's, sponsored one of my favorite drag racers, Clay Milligan, I remember on their trailer doors, they had a sign, "paperless logs", (we all thought, OOOO, high tech),look what they've been reduced to, is it greed? What makes a company go south like that?:smt102:smt102

Could they be giving you the cold shoulder. I think I would try somewhere else, perhaps with the government help you will get on, but so many companies have their own criteria they march to. They might consider you a liability.

    Total Inspections: 17,534
    Total Crashes: 1,104
    Unsafe Driving: 57% (wtf?)
    HOS Compliance: 19%
    Vehicle Maint.: 56% (wtf?)
    Drugs/Alcohol: 44% (W.T.F.?)
    Driver Fitness: 57%

I don't know why anybody would want to drive for Werner.

Hi Boes, got that right! I met Clay at a drag racing event, and while most the drivers are cool, Clay was extra nice. I bet he would have let me sit in his car if I asked. I've seen him put kids in the car. I heard, he worked as fork lift driver for Kroger Supermarkets and worked his way into racing.
