Well, hubby has officially given up the ghost. He's turning in his truck this morning and coming home. He didn't mind so much the driving, but he just wasn't getting enough in the miles. I added up all the miles he's run and divided it by the weeks he's been there and he's only averaging about 2000 miles a week. Really he's not making much more than he would at home. And he misses us. So, the guy I'm going to be working for has another open truck as of this past weekend, and hubby's going to drive it. A couple more weeks and I will be going to take my driving test. Going to get in some more driving practice first. Both of us working, and at the same place, there's a scary thought. It helps that I know the folks we're going to be working for.
I've been teasing hubby about being home every night. I told him I just got used to him only being home every three or four weeks, and now I've got to put up with him again every night. He said I'll have to tell my secret boyfriend he can't come over now. And he'll have to give up the gals in every town. HAHA!! Really though, I'm glad he'll be home. I just wish that they would have had an open truck before he went OTR, but they didn't at the time. Oh well. He's home now.
So now, we venture forth into the world of grain hauling. Yippee. -
This will probably work out best for you both. 2000 a week makes it hard to pay the bills no matter who you drive for, unless you're hourly.

Tracy don't feel bad my hubby had good and bad weeks
-
Keep in touch with what he does and I will say he will be back, I say that to all the drivers that leave because they always come back within 2 weeks or 30 day (usually 2 weeks
But good luck -

Good luck and keep in touch please!
I was there must of been outside smoking when you stopped by! Out back if not at my desk "usually". l.o.l. -
Tracy, good luck and let us know how you and your husband are making out. Sometimes a driver has to make decision like he did and not look back.

Well everyone I am driving for Celadon now and I have to say they are AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!...I love it here..Coming over here from Swift was like breath of fresh air..I have to say I am very impressed with everything so far..I had an accident tho my 2nd week out but it wasn't my fault..And it happened in BC CANADA and the guy that hit me immediatly took responsibility for his wrong doing. When the police showed up and called the tow truck driver to come tow my truck cause I had a flat steer tire I was only 1 1/2 blocks from my delivery and the tow truck driver took my trailer and delivered it to the customer. How cool is that??? The customer let me leave the trailer there until I got the truck drivable again..I was then towed to a dealership to get repaired..Since then I went to Indy and was only in the shop for 2 days...Mind you I had to get a new hood and bumper plus get the qualcomm fixed and I also got 9 new tires..1 tire was new from Canada..2 days and that was all..Pretty good huh..Since then I have been running my butt off with miles to spare..I love it..They don't bs me around and I have the freedom to say what I want to say when I want to say it..I asked for my first time off and they got me home a day early..I was very impressed with that..I so hope this stays this way..I will become a Celadon driver for life!!!!!!! I had an awsome time in orientation too. And they flew me from Dallas to Indy instead of making me ride a bus. That was cool of them to do....I am so happy I came here to drive for them..
