0.02 is considered the minimum detectable level as far as DOT is concerned. Any less than that would be a negative test. You were below that level, so you should not have a failed alcohol test on your record.

Moral to this story children is DON'T DRINK........the OP admitted to drinking and driving in his car ( that by itself should have gotten him fired) since he was still considered "under dispatch" because the employer's truck ( his responsibility ) was still at the customer's DC.....but like tigersroses1 said , there's too much in his post that don't add-up.....not calling anyone a liar or anything close , but 1+1 does equal 2.....here it seems that it doesn't. Bad decisions can and will adversely affect your ability to not only keep a job , but to GET a job. This is where I always say., drinking , and making the choice to drive anything , anywhere , anytime , knowingly after consuming any alcohol at all , well , that choice never works-out good for anybody.

Hey, I'm not exactly defending my actions but really, 0.018 is a very small amount. I was not impaired legally or in fact.
And I was not under dispatch - I had not even sent in my availability yet. I have had no tickets in 8 years or accidents in over 20 years. I am not a reckless person.

I am just looking for helpful advice on how to move on

I've been hearing that and it is encouraging - maybe I am more upset than I should be; it's just stressful, you know.

    Any suggestions?

It should be listed in the DOT hand book.
