Leased on you will have your carrier's name on the side of your truck.

By the time you are ready with your own authority, you will have come up with a dozen names. I know I have. I believe in the KISS philosophy.

    (Your Name Here) Trucking LLC.

Dont over complicate something as simple as a name.

Ok but don't I have to have a name for my business to be able to file for a DBA,LLC etc?

You should have filed and set up an EIN, the name you registered your EIN can easily be your business name. I am running under my own personal name for now. I havent decided on a final name yet.

With 1 or 2 trucks, you dont need to incorporate. It often complicates things and the way the new rules are, you gain nothing by it. Single proprietor, thats all you need initially. When you are ready to go larger, seek out the advise of a CPA and get professional advise how which way to register your business.

Yes you do need a name. If it something like "your name trucking" it is most likely OK, no need to file for DBA.
But if its "Super Unreliable and Expensive Trucking" then you need to file DBA, each state varies, so check with them.

Most competent CPA's will tell you when you Net over 65k to incorporate, its not that big of a deal.

Yeah I'm not going to do LLC or anything like that. I've been told to just run as a DBA, less hassle that way.

You will get the dang freight when I get there..trucking co. inc.
    or
"We stop at 5pm every night trucking inc?

I only laugh and make fun of companies who pretend to be F-a-s-t....
    Speedy! Swift!..or anything "Express"...

I pass them everyday..allday long and they have some of the slowest trucks on the road!!

if you are going to haul refrigerated freight call it "Reefer Madness"

Don't use your own name,,,gets more attention from the IRS.
