I work 5 on 1 off for nuverra in dickinson since June. I average about 375-400 a shift. Housing is expensive $1000 month but is nice, you can bring family. I don't think I'll go back to living 3 dudes jammed into a room in a single wide again
rabbiporkchop and Western flyer Thank this. -
the days of ticket time pay is disappearing... and being replaced by actual time... There is not that large of a shortage of workers anymore, and the boom has plateaued.
And many of the large exploration companies are not paying the overcharges anymore.
Hualing crude oil, $300 per day, 5 days a week, 2 days off, two weeks off a year is $75,000 a year. And those type of jobs are all over the place. and that is as a company driver.Western flyer Thanks this. -

Hazmat and TWIC I'm familiar with. Could either of you provide more information about OSHA 30 "and others"? Are you referring to the OSHA General Industry training, or another one of their offerings? And the other certs you've heard companies asking for?

We got a job offer with Nabors. Starting pay is $18 (with driving experience) and up to $20 after 90 days. Pretty much guaranteed 60 hours a week but could work up to 70. This is driving a vac truck so it isn't the hours you could get on a frac crew but it is a starting point in the oil field. Good benefits and retirement. I entered our individual "profiles" on their website and was in the process of actually putting in an application when my husband got a call from them. Litterally 5 minutes after I had sent in the profile. A lot of the crude hauling jobs won't hire you if you don't have experience driving a tanker. You can have the endorsement, but with no experience, it is hard to find a place to get on. We figured this was a way in, drive the vac truck and get the experience and then we can move into crude if we want later down the line.
