Hi Marksteven, see, that surprises me. I used to work in Green Bay, and CTS was a really good company. I used to haul a lot of paper, and I'd go to the same places those guys did, and they were a great bunch, of course, that was 20 years ago.
I worked for them for 3 years from 92-95 on their "Chicago Board" I wouldnt have made that claim if i never drove for them

I'm glad nobody was hurt, but did you guys catch what the news reporter said? He said a hazmat team was cleaning a 200 gal diesel spill as well as trans loading the freight onto another truck. Said it could be 5-6 hrs before the ramp is open again. That's not too bad. I guess it's safe to say they didn't call any grocery warehouse lumpers to the scene.
teqntexas Thanks this. -
Hi moraramis, I feel bad for them too, but again, they drive these things like sports cars. The load could have shifted, but I've hauled a lot of loads, many top heavy, and easy usually does it, and I've never rolled a semi. Just today, I went on a small trip in my pickup, and the way these trucks are being driven, I don't know, tailgating, constant lane changing, and the dreaded semi roadblock, just seems so different today.
I am with Semi on the driving issue. Going too fast for conditions, no doubt about it. For my understanding. I've hauled some paper, and some very top heavy equipment (I went to this shipper in Michigan - they stuffed this enormous weaving machine in my 53' box, rolled it right in on pipes and a forklift. So topheavy but like Semi says, just took it easy on the turns. You can go just as fast on the superhighway) I hate to see that, but that driver made every driver look bad. Who needs more pressure? Also, HazMat called out for 5g diesel fuel? Right. Somebody pulled the money chain on that one."semi" retired Thanks this. -

Well Semi--how far ya wanna go back? Im sure YOU remember when Schneider was a top of the line company---unfortunately things change....
And since I do NOT know the circumstances--Ill NEVER judge until the FACTS are in--BUT--in general the disturbing trend I see--is folks driving big trux the same way people driver 4wheelers--drivers NOT really paying attention to what they are doing-not that I think it is OK in a 4wheeler--but it is exponentially worse in a big truck--BUT--I would like to thank all those drivers who helping to keep my ol timer complacency down--since MOST of what goes on out here anymore--has me spending most trips sitting up on the wheel like Im in a snowstorm.."semi" retired Thanks this. -
