My co-driver's cousin just got out of prison for cold blooded murder over drug sales.

    12 years served as well....

For those of you who think that murders all stay in prison ffor life. Check out the IL murdered registry. http://www.isp.state.il.us/cmvo/ search Chicago. You will be surprised how many convicted murderers, and child murderers are free on the streets. The most common conviction I see is murder with intent to kill. It sickens me how many of them killed young children.

Its reality. I don't make the laws. I just want to open the eyes of the people who don't understand the realities of the US legal/prison system

I appreciate that you thought enough of us to come to us for help, and I trust that you've stayed out of trouble since your release. If so, that is a good thing. I won't defend whatever past decision it was that landed you in the joint, but I will defend your current one, which is to straighten up, fly right, and join on us the road trying to eek out an honest living.

You WILL be kept out of Canada with your record, so that will disqualify you from just about any company that goes there. Hazmat however is a lesser concern, but it still may be worth looking into.

    Best of luck.

Very true that some murderers are releast far to earl, I know a guy who stabbed a 17 girl 27 times and then raped her as she was dying, he spent 15 years of a life sentence for the cold blooded murder, the OP still has not said wether or not his was do to a fight or a drunk driving accident or what have you, if this was just a bad decision after getting drunk and got into a vehicle, I say he did his time and he should be allowed a life, just can't give that opinion with out knowing what happened, his silence on this matter make me think it was far worse, one thing I'm glad he understands the negative thoughts, to the OP; I truly hope I'm wrong on what happened in your case, and it was just bad decision like drunk driving, and not something far worse, if so, I hope you find a company that will look past the conviction and give you a job

I have a tendency to talk out of my butt with an unwavering conviction that im right.

Had I not been born in to poverty I would have gone to law school instead of driving school.

I had a fatal car accident in 1987 that killed the driver, no drinking, I did my time, and have a TWIC Card, a USCG 100 ton masters licence, and a CDL A and had ZERO issues getting hired I work for Millis a great company. People make mistakes everyday its how you act after the mistake, I have found if your upfront employers understand. Keep you head up and drive on...

Back when I first started there were a lot more drivers with criminal records than we see today. Most of them made pretty decent drivers. Background checks were pretty non existent and people tended to look more at the person and were less judgmental when it came to this industry. When I see someone who is trying to turn their life around, I have no problem giving them a second chance.

Some of you people are praising him like he is some amazingly courageous hero. He is a MURDERER. If it was an accident he would have specified that from the beginning to separate himself from actual killers..but he didnt..

I have mixed feelings about this one. I would want to know about the crime and not from him. Provide me with the police report or court records and then I would decide.

As as for being in the same place as him. Ask a father of a little girl, what he would do to a sex offender, who victimized his princess...
