We have about 25 trucks, 50+ trailers and a fairly well stocked parts room to look after. I'm currently using ADP Fleet Connect, but it's obsolete and being shut down at the end of the year. We have Axon for dispatch, payroll, billing, etc. and had planned on getting the maintenance package added to it, but the final total was going to be too many thousand$$$ for what we need.
I just want to be able to keep track of inventory, and post parts and labor to units we bring in. I don't need to track each truck and trailer to the cent, just go back and see if parts were installed within the warranty period, check service history, etc. Setting PM SVC reminders based on date and/or mileage would be a sweet bonus, but not essential.
Any reasonably priced ideas???

MS Excel. Nice and cheap.
SilverShadow and RoosterNB Thank this. -
I wondered if something like Excel or maybe Simply Accounting might work. I don't have any experience with any of those types of programs, so I don't know what they can do.

Quick books could be a good solution. You can have a Quicken approved provider set everything up for you, customize it to your needs, with reports and time/material tracking FIFO inventory and if I remember setup a life cycle part to keep inventory up to date.

I love Quicken. Excel is good for making tables, and imho, you can do so much more with it.

The life cycle thing has to do with parts that have a shelf life. I know in trucking there isn't much, I put grease in that category but things like fuel additives that are Alcohol based loses it effectiviness. I can't think of others, maybe certain seals but nevertheless, you can expire things and scrap them (for tax purposes).RoosterNB Thanks this. -
