Well, think what you want about posting! I am Wife, as hubby/driver doesn't do computers. This is all me and that is how it is and like I said different areas have different pay and situations. I just wanted to get truthful information from folks out there, but all I am getting a lot of bull from some people that haven't been in this job as long as my husband has. He has worked for several local small companies hauling produce, fruit, hay, yard products and chemicals. He has gone to ports and etc. So Mean Streak can be mean and I really don't care as you haven't helped at all!

It would be great to leave this area, but when family is here and son is still in high school, you just can't pick up and go! He is trying to contact office a bit more like people have said, but it is still difficult.

Jbh in my experience is no different than swift, my support staff /manager is severely unqualified for the job they're doing and their expectations are unrealistic as well.

At the bottom right hand of the screen is a button, "reply with a quote" this way people can understand whom you are answering. I am having a hard time following this thread but that is not the point. If JBH is such a bad company, then why in the world did you sign on with them in the first place? Was it the only game in town? I guess I cant see the grype here as YOU or rather YOUR HUSBAND did this! Have you ever hear of due diligence? If not, Ill explain.

    • Due Diligence is the reasonable steps taken by a person in order to satisfy a legal requirement, especially in buying or selling something.
      • a comprehensive appraisal of a business undertaken by a prospective buyer, especially to establish its assets and liabilities and evaluate its commercial potential whereas a person may consider doing business or working for said business.

Prior to anyone doing anything, someone should of checked these guys out and figured out if they would be a good fit working there. Its obvious from your postings that you all did nothing and simply signed on the line and now you want us to throw you a pity party for your mistakes. Its kind of like encouraging bad behavior.

Well in this instance, I will not award you a Gold Starr nor an E for effort because there was clearly none put forth.

No my husband had talked to people in passing that worked with them, but they all did regional and long haul. JBH contacted him by phone and he talked with this person in detail about the position, which is running a fairly new area for them getting things from rail. They told him he would make a certain amount or more per year. All I have said is that things at this point are not as they said. Maybe it will get better. As I said, in the first post, I just wanted information from anyone and no, I didn't ask for a pity party. I can tell from most of the drivers here that you don't care that you are all doing the work, taking the risks and etc., to make many thousands of dollars on each load you take and drop. It is just sad, after having a former husband that worked for the Rail industry and knowing about transportation, that RR men fought for good wages and got them. Take your wages per week and then divide by how many hours you were on the job for them, not just driving, but on the job and see how much you work per hour. That is the sad part for many people. I don't care about stars or grades as this is real life and when this job takes a toll on the health and life of each and every driver then you all should be making a fair wage for that loss and I don't mean $10 or $12 an hour! Take for example the company my brother worked for. Daily runs from MS to TX, home each night or day, earned a little over $300. Those are decent wages and well earned for all the junk drivers have to deal with. Sounds like to me that many of the drivers on here are happy with no family time, the joy of just getting by each week and no real job security.

Hopefully a trucking company grading system will evolve from forums like this that expose all
aspects of any company a driver is interested in.
Its going to be the one and only way applicants can be protected from
the endless deceptions these companies create to lure drivers in
dhould that prove to be the case.
It will be HTML set to appear in any link pertains to the company website.

Sort of like going to see a movie , it has a Rating on it.
Too many times people are sucked into these companies with
the only intention of finding a job and then things go bad.
If for instance you logged onto XYZ airlines site to buy a ticket and the link drectly
below it stated XYZ airlines has a 83% midair collision rate you're probably
not going to click on the purchase ticket button.

Its up to us to formulate a way to influence the job shoppers
the real world truth of what's in store for them once they get inside
the belly of one of some of these monsters.

Drivers and a few website creators is all it will take,
but then again , it will probably never happen.

Enough already. Your whining about JB Hunt, Rail yards, the trucking industry, this site, etc not beig fair to you. You really expect sympathy when you are whining just whine? I do the same work as your supposed "husband" does and called you out on that because there is no way your husband is only making $500 a week gross for weeks on end at this job. That was straight up bs. A few days went by and then you said "his" pay had improved somewhat...since the first quote was totally unrealistic you had to say it improved somewhat to try and get more sympathy right? Sorry to tell you this but it's not going to happen.

As far as your brothers job goes if it's so great why didn't you go work there? Oh wait let me guess you can't move right? Your brother won't let you crash at his place while you look for one of your own while working the same good job he has...oh excuse me I meant your "husband" working the same job as your brother. One last thing if your going to talk about job security intermodal is it for job security. The only other trucking jobs that come close to the job security in intermodal is union ltl gigs.

Light Load you are totally without a doubt not being truthful yourself. I am beginning to think you aren't what you say either. His pay has improved because the last few day he has gotten three runs instead of just two and they were about 40 miles away instead of 10. You are not a true trucker if you can't see that I have been posting for all truck drivers not your little hole in the wall self. My brother didn't do the hiring and firing and they weren't hiring in MS. No we won't move because my son is in High School and doesn't want to leave. He also is big into his bowling team. You are just a miserable person and you aren't happy yourself and if you reread your answers you are the whiner not me. Also you have been no help at all to my first question so apparently you can't read a question enough to answer it and truly help your fellow truckers out. Therefore since all you have done is Dis me and my husband that leads me to think You are where the White Collar!!
