That's not an o-ring that seals oil from coming out of the rear of the block. The o-ring under there is for oil port to the rocker shafts. You use Locktite 51580 (AKA gasket eliminator) to seal the #1 & #7 cam bearing caps. The rear cap has to be removed to reseal it.

John , i ,m talking about a two piece rocker cover and jake spacer
-
See I was doing to you what I thought you were doing, making assumptions.
I do not believe we had any units that used the Jake spacer most every unit in our area used the factory deep cover, and came with Jake's. -
It is all back together and stayed clean and dry today. It was the o-ring causing the leak. The man who fixed it this time did it last time. He said a stud with a washer under it was loose. He also said he always changes that washer when he does this repair. He denied being the one to fix it two years ago. I emailed him the bill from two years ago. I have not heard back. Hmmmm.

Dont you just hate it when a person can own up to ones mistakes!!
A simple "i must of screwed up" goes a long way in my book, i have more respect for a person who admits his faults versus a lier -
Sorry john we did,nt see too many one piece rocker covers over here mainly two piece
-
I agree with you 100% on owning up to a mistake. The world does not come an end when someone says: I messed up. This guys likes bragging on himself but won't admit a mistake. He has more excuses than Carter had pills as to what must have happened. In the end I paid the full shot twice.
