State of Michigan just sent me a new drivers license for no reason at all. Michigan licenses are good for 4 years. My license doesn't expire till my birthday 2017. License they sent was not a cdl???? Renewed my cdl with a tanker endorsement added on my birthday in 2013. Haven't had any tickets or issues in many years. Very confused why they would send this to me. Going to call tomorrow. I've had my class A since 2001 never had a ticket in a cmv. Wondering if anyone has had this happen.
here is your new drivers license????

Did you register your med card ? They may have you down graded for that maybe? Just a guess
semi retired semi driver, flood, DrtyDiesel and 5 others Thank this. -

I guess that's better than just suspending your license, like Florida does.
Lucar Thanks this. -
Yup, medical card. You needed to send it in. Because you didn't they take your CDL endorsement away. You know have 1 year to give them a current medical. If you don't within 1 year you will have to take all tests again, get learners permit and take drivers test.

Yep better call your DMV Office and find out what the deal is.
But prolly didn't do the Med Card thing.
Need to get this taken care off...like yesterday. -
His CDL in no longer valid would be my guess.

I had to take my medical card to the DMV when I renewed my CDL last year. I got a letter from my state about 90 days ago telling me that I needed to send or upload a copy of my medical card prior to the card expiring in November. I went a little early to get my medical, uploaded to the state DMV and received a confirmation that it was received the next day. When I checked everything was updated. Every state is supposed to send out a notice to CDL holders 90 days prior to the expiration of your CDL. I had to set up an account with my DMV in order to upload my medical. I was told that I could take a copy to any DMV office, fax or email it to them. I thought it would be better to upload it into their system. I would suggest that everyone check to see when their medical card expires and make sure to send a copy to your DMV. Medical cards are now supposed to be tied to our CDL. I was told, however, that I should still keep a hard copy with me.

Just sat thru a seminar by the insurance company. We have to have the card (or long form) with us until Jan 30, 2015. After that everything should be in place to just send it to your DMV every 2 years.
