It is a life style, and some folks wouldn't trade it for anything. I love my wife and my home, but after I went local, I was surprised at how much I missed being out, alone in the truck. And of course now that I'm retired, ah well, no point in whining about it. . .:biggrin_2557:

FED EX FREIGHT HIRING PROCESS SUCKS !!!!!!

About month ago i applied for a few LTL carriers. Two of them were FXF and Estes, I interviewed for both, they processed my application, and told me they will do a background check. FXF said it will take two weeks,3 weeks later FXF call me in for the road test and drug screen, I passed those test, but I didnt hear from them for 3 weeks. During those 3 weeks of not hearing anything from FXF ,and being out of work for a month,Estes replied with a road test ,drug screen and a start date. I wanted to wait for FXF but needed some income, and i wasnt sure what the delay was about at FXF , I went to Estes, and of course a few days after starting Estes FXF called me with a start date. I haven't replied to FXF just yet because now im uncertain. I actually like Estes, They have good equipment, NO DOCK work, all the drivers seem happy and content, and work ,atmosphere is positive, the pay is decent.

THE PROs/ CONS INCOMPARISON TO FXF : Estes terminal is 25 miles from home,FXF is 10 miles from home, FXF 22+per hour(56CPM) to start plus OT after 8 but stingy with overtime so ive heard, Estes 21+ per hour OT after 48 (52 CPM)to start, Both give raises every 6months and top out at 25+ per hour, but FXF CPM top out at 60 while Estes top out at 57. FXF 75% dock work (dont mind working the dock but rather not), Estes No dock work,(Heeeaack YEEAAH LOL) Im not sure who have the best benefits package. Im leaning toward staying at Estes .

WHAT DO MY FELLOW LTL BROTHERS AND SISTERS THINK?

That's about exactly what I'm working right now and can't wait to change it to 8 pm till 5 am. Traffic blows and I bid a short day line so I get stuck on the dock or going out for p&d when I get back. Looking forward to a nice night meet and turn again.

@bruh man yea that's him. He would've been perfect for this section.

@BIGG RIGGS I would stay at Estes. Drivers are happy, no dock work etc. those higher paying companies pay you more for a reason... That's just my 2 cents though
