I am a FedEx Ground owner/contractor in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.

I am always hiring drivers for team and solo positions to cover dedicated and some non-dedicated runs on regional routes. Solos run from Ft Worth to Perry, Oklahoma or Prescott, Arkansas for example. Teams run to Tennessee and Mississippi and other similar routes that return nightly.

    AS OF 10/14/14:

I currently need two drivers to be a team on a dedicated run to Tennessee nightly.

I'm also hiring solo drivers to run day, regional routes out of Ft Worth.

Call or Private Message me (click on my username to do that) and we'll talk. I always have runs available or contractor friends who are hiring too.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    - Class A CDL
    - Doubles/ Triples endorsement (very easy to add if you don't have it)
    - 6 months experience if you went to certain trucking schools (call and we can discuss)
    - 1 year experience if you don't have a Fedex approved trucking school
    - No Felonies - even if they're 25 years old - Fedex won't let us hire any felonies
    - Clean MVR and good driving record

    Call Mike at 214. 862. 5800

At this point, they will have to message one of the staff to message you. You do not have enough posts at this point. (7)

Ok. I didn't realize that. I've been on Truckers Report since 2012 under a different name but wanted to use the Fedex Ground since it tells more of what I do. I guess I should've just used the old account. I'll get up to 7 soon though. Thanks.

About 90% or more of Fedex Ground work is pulling doubles. There are some local jobs spotting trailers at WalMart and Sams and such that is 100% 53' trailers and there are some day solo jobs that run 53' trailers but most of Fedex Ground is doubles. It's not a difficult endorsement to add if you don't have it.

The Fedex run I currently have is a 5,500 miles weekly, dedicated run to Tennessee and back. Easy run with weekends off and you make it back to Dallas/ Ft Worth nightly. The average pay is $1,200 per driver plus health benefits and safety bonuses and new, well-maintained equipment. You'd be working for my company which is 100% Fedex Ground contractor. Fedex Ground does not have its own trucks or drivers. It's all "official" W2 work with benefits and payroll companies and all that. I'm a small, family owned company but in my years of trucking that's a good thing. We take care of our drivers and we all really watch out for each other. You're not just a warm body in a seat at this company.

Are you having trouble finding drivers like many of the other companies are? Here in Sioux City,Iowa I see some signs planted in the ground looking for drivers.

Yes, the market has definitely changed just within the last 6 months or so. Fedex reports that they're seeing only in certain markets that have good job growth, Dallas/ Fort Worth being one of those. I've seen the same thing down here where Fedex contractors are posting mini-billboards around the Fedex Ground terminals and using other methods I've never seen them use before.

I think Fedex Ground as a large company needs to start recruiting drivers themselves and allowing contractors to access those drivers. They have the budget to reach out into much larger advertising markets but for now they're relying on the small, individual contracted companies to do it themselves. I understand that they don't want to get involved in the "employee business" but there has to be a creative way for them to use their marketing muscle to help us out.
