I keep hearing you guys say this. I'm as American as you can get,.. but this really bothers me to hear guys speak with such prejudice.

The guy I am leased on to is Lithuanian. Thats right there with the rest of the Slovic, Polish, Armenian, Ukraine and east Russian guys. They all speak a different dialect of the same language.

Funny thing is my guy lives in Ill, sw of Chicago, and to me he is as American as I am. He loves to go to Cubs games, he celebrates American holidays, his kids all speak english. His english is a bit broken at times. But I understand him just fine. He likes to hire mainly American O/O's and drivers. Says he doesnt like to be labeled by Americans in the industry for being from Europe. And thats just what I see here on this forum from many guys.

Granted,.. there are bad apples. It just urks me to label an entire group of people as dangerous outlaws with no regard for safety or the law. I know when I was a company driver for my guy, what ever I asked for when the truck needed something I got it. No questions asked. He said he trusted my judgement.

I worked for a guy out of Washington state. American as you or me. And he was the worst tyrant I ever worked for in my life. What ever could be skated on was. I had no choice but to hang in and swallow my pride to get my time behind the wheel in or risk delaying my plans to become an O/O.

Let be a little more fair and less prejudice please.

I'm leased on with a good company, based out of Willowbrook. Not all the bennys you'll find with some of the larger companies. But I'm never sitting, I have access to his load board accounts, I can run as hard or easy as I want. I go home when ever I want. Money is great. I can use his fuel card when money is short. He gets $.08 off pump cash price.

I dont talk much because half the guys he has working for him now keep screwing up and last thing I need is another tard who cant keep his logs up to date.

Money is Great ! or Money is Short, and you have to borrow his fuel card........which is it ?

I dont borrow his fuel card,.. I have his fuel card and use it as I see fit.

I allot money into different accounts for different purposes. While I do keep a ledger,.. its sometimes easier to go online and look at my expenditures. It gives me a better way to focus on where I need to improve my business. I also have accounts where I put money for things I want to buy or need and dont want to finance to get it.

Example,..
I may have $30k in an account and $5500 in another and $12k in another. The $30k is set aside for a different purpose then the $5500. I dont intermingle unless I have to. Its easier to "Borrow" as you so humbly put it,.. and pay that back then to pull money that belongs to something else. I wont touch money that I put away for something I want. I treat it as if its already spent. This is how I saved cash for my first truck,.. this is how I pay cash for virtually everything I want and need. I do have credit cards. I keep them to show revolving credit. I rarely spend more than $100 - $200 on them and pay off the bill to minimize interest owed.

Say I want a new Mustang. I have a 708 credit score. Not upper echelon,.. but I could easily finance a $40k car with no money down. I wont do that,.. I'll start putting money away as if I were making car payments. I treat it as money spent. Gone. Then when I have enough for what I want,.. I pay cash. Done. I end up getting what I want for less then if I financed and paid interest on what I borrowed. I'll never be upside down,.. because I'll always have 100% equity in what I own.

Its the one thing my ex wife taught me well. She would have 2 $100 bills in her purse and still have the nerve to ask me for my last $20, claiming that she was broke.

As for fuel,.. my fuel expenses are roughly $10k a month. Thats $120k a year,.. just for fuel. So yeah,.. when I put money into another account and come up short because I burned more fuel the next week then what I anticipated,.. I use that fuel card to fill a tank or two so I can keep money where I want and still maintain business as usual. Its not that I dont have the cash to pay for it. For me its a way to maintain control and focus with out being penalized by not making a payment to a bank or lender. I use the fuel card like I would a credit card.

Considering the company is based by Chicago why are they looking for drivers in Southern California? Seems rather suspect, anyone else think so?

That and when you look at their website it screams red flags. Not a single company picture. All pictures are from other websites. Looks like a home template from Frontpage html software.

I have to admit,... that one scares me.
