Hey Gentlemen I know its been a while since I posted. I did get hired on with CT. Been here for a week. Its been ok so far. Just hoping I can get home this weekend even though I'm running on recap. My fleet leader Is Greg, works out of Charlotte. He's alright, not a communicative person at all. Other than that, very friendly people who actually know u by your name not by a truck number. I wanna thank Joe and Smurf for spreadin some good info.

    Congrats Rookie!
I have never met Greg. My fleet leader is Rusty. CT is a good company. As with any company you'll find thing you don't like here & there but nothing too awful.

This sounds like a crappy company...... I hate being offered better stuff, lol. I wish we had the laundry room and bunk rooms. That would be nice!

You know I talked to a Covenant Trainee a few days ago and I thought this guy was joking. But he surely was not! 24 cents per mile AFTER 240 hours of training and 28 after one year! I was floored. I didn't even know there was a company still paying 24 cents! I really don't know how they get anyone to work there. Who do they have a Covenant with? The welfare office?

Hey. About those cameras? I ended up hard braking just to avoid myself being involved in a accident twice this week. So I tripped the camera. So I guess safety is gonna call me in this week. Right?

lol.... I set that Da** thing off 3 times a week! Don't worry about that camera. DriveCam won't even send it to Safety unless they see something you did wrong. I set mine off the other day backing in a dock. The only time you will here from safety is if you were doing something unsafe to set it off. Your breaks are there for a REASON! Use them when you NEED them and to hell with safety. I couldn't care less what they see on the camera as long as I know I did nothing wrong.

Can anybody tell me about the medical insurance here? Are you all no touch, have automatics, apus, pet rider policy and do you all get to Florida much? Where do you all run, freight lanes and such. How far out do you all go? Thanks. I applied seven months ago but was rejected. Been getting my game together with Trans Am since then but the medical insurance is cheap and doesn't cover much of anything. Thanks in advance.

I just wonder....what would be said if you walked into some exec's office, stuck a wireless webcam up in the corner and told him " don't worry it will only record when you make a bad decision". How long would it remain up. Not more than a minute I guess.

Theres good and bad aspects to cameras. In many cases they can prove innocence of the driver in a wreck. But there is also the down sides. Overall I didn't mind the cameras when I was there but unlike smurfs previous comment I was very worried about hard braking and tried to avoid it at all costs. It's hard to put it into exact words but having left cargo and gone to a company that at the moment doesn't utilize cameras (most of our trucks mine included do have cameras installed just not in use) having a camera face the driver is really a major distraction. Over time you come to fear setting the camera off and you try to avoid doing things that would do so including braking hard.

    Ok here we go....
Medical is good here. Covers most normal stuff. $128 per week family, $56 per week driver only.
We are 99% no touch. Out of the last year I've had TWO driver assist loads.
All trucks are 10 speed Auto Shifts with
battery pack APU's. (No Idle laws to worry about)
No pet policy. All trucks are company owned. No O/O's at Cargo.
We run all 48 states. However our MAIN freight lanes are Texas east. Solo drivers will NOT run much farther out than Texas. We do go to Florida. However freight is scarce down there so it's not a regular thing. Where you will drive depends mainly on the fleet leader you get. Joey will tell you he burnt the road up go NE every week. However I have run North East 3 times in the last year. I'm always OH,MI,IN,MN,PA,MO,AK,GA,AL,TX or Tennessee.
41 cents per mile with 1 year exp.

    mje and TruckrWnnaB Thank this.
