Its still a great time saver if you can take your 30 while the truck drives for you

Think about all the time you'll save when you're at the house, not working and a robot is doing your job!

Sitting in the center of the truck like that just won't work though. It restricts the view too much when turning, especially on left hand turns/backs. Sure there'd be no more blind-siding in with that truck, but there'd be no sight-side either. That's not a trade-off I'd be comfortable making without a LOT of practice before I drove it on the rode to get used to it.

They Will make for a good indicator of when it's getting too windy. As light as they are they will probably be among the fist to get blown over.

I don't see carbon fiber trailers becoming common any time soon but 4,000 lbs weight savings is pretty impressive.

Walmart already addresses that, they have various method used on trucks that run the high wind areas, including bladder systems and cutting pallets and using concrete blocks that can be moved within the trailer.

Considering the amount of carbon fiber already being used on things, I suspect in 5 to 7 yrs you could easily see this.
