    Ordered one for Christmas lol.
Won't be back home until Christmas anyway.

Trying to see where everybody has theirs mounted.

Right in front of me, focusing directly on my unbelievable good looks, snapping 24 frames per second, auto sending to a variety of male modelling agencies.

So far . . . I'm still driving a truck. Phone has been pretty quiet. But the motoring public thinks I'm a happy chappie.

I figure one would need 3. 1 looking forward. 1 looking to each side, also capturing the mirrors.
Then you would be fully covered for whatever a crazy 4 wheeler does to you ?

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

    Well don't NEED any.
1 is nice 2 or 3 or more would be better.

1 is still better than the 0 I have now.

Assuming it has a normal suction cup type mount, put it in the top center or your windshield. Make sure its in an area the windshield wipers cover.
There's no reason to see vast expanses of hood, unless you like that stuff, but make sure something shows up in the video that indicates where the end of your vehicle is.
You can use the end of your hood, or the corner mirrors.
You'll want it out of your line of sight, but somewhere you will notice its not working, via the lcd screen if it has one, or a blinking led.
(They do sometimes shut down in the heat of the sun through the windshield or when the memory card gets corrupted. You'll want to know its not working so you won't have a surprise when the video you think is there, never was recorded)
    Skip the motion detection stuff.
None of them seem to work very well.
Leave whatever 'night vision' lighting it may have off, also.
    (Usually worthless)
Go for the biggest memory card it will handle, and carry a spare card. I've had a few cards go south on me.
You'll want to have a general idea how many hours your card will hold so you can download or save video segments before they get recorded over.
The big card gives you some time to play with.

    I've never needed one too.

I've somehow avoided crashing in forever past. Not sure it will catch up to me one day.

I gaze at the things through the display at truckstops.

Traffic volume is so intense in major markets. Its not like the olden days.

Maybe I should get one (or 3).
