My hubby and I are long time team drivers. By luck we answered a little ad on Craigslist and we couldn't be happier.

TPD is a tiny company - just two teams right now- that is looking to expand. We run exclusively for FedEx Ground.

The owner bought us a brand new truck, tricked out with all the extras: memory foam mattress, fridge, 2000w inverter, satellite radio... well, you name it, we got it. Just for the asking.

George is a great guy to work for, business smart, savvy, and responsive whenever we've needed him. He pays hub miles with a solid fuel mileage bonus. And the miles are there every week. We're running dedicated guaranteed 5200 every week and more if we want 'em. (But I like 3 nights home a week) The pay is good and by running 62mph we'll be banking an extra 1500 every month. Just like a free paycheck.

He's looking for high quality teams, FXG is pretty strict on who they will allow the vendors to hire, but if you've got a solid DAC, CSA and doubles endorsement and are in the Columbus area, check it out.

Seriously, after 7 years of driving we finally found a real forever home. And I couldn't be more thrilled.

    Nedrudt Thanks this.

Employer pays flat amount to health insurance of my choosing. (We go through OOIDA). Amounts to about half. $250 or so each. Vacation 1 wk at 1 year, 2 at two, 3 at five. Pretty standard.

Don't remember about retirement though, I have to go back and look.

We're making 50cpm plus up to 7cpm for fuel bonus. If that helps.

    Pintlehook and Nedrudt Thank this.

    Deleted...

Sounds like a great place. Are the trucks auto? The pictures I've seen of them their auto and man. And do they have a rider policy or pet policy?

Yes to vacation. Can't remember about 401k. Paperwork is at home and we're OTR. See above post. You can pm me for George's number and speak to him directly.

We run his company truck like it was our own. Look out for fuel prices, advise him on maintenance, calculate and report actual fuel mileage, put in face time with the customer, etc. In exchange, he pretty much lets us do our thing. It is the best company position I've had. No pet fees for Bloo, no dispatch hounding me to brave dangerous weather, and a regular, reliable schedule. Works great for us.

I've been talking to George, getting my paperwork all sent in. He is pretty cool, great guy. Did you have orientation with George or FedEx? And no pet fee is pretty cool.

Orientation is for wimps. LOL. We got a few words from a long time driver and were cut loose. We've run for FedEx third party, so it wasn't much of a change. Just the spiffy new wardrobe. Lol.

If you decide to come aboard PM me, we'll be happy to meet you in the yard and walk you through it. Hell, we'll even buy the coffee. :)

Ours is a ten speed manual. He let us choose. The rider policy I'm not sure about. I've taken my kids on the road, but now they're all grown. Besides, they couldn't keep up with Mom's vampire schedule. Lol.

We are 6 days away from a year now and I thought an update was a good idea. After a year I can tell you:

George has been awesome to work for. He is honest and generous... a real good egg in an industry that really needs more people like him.

Hauling FXG doubles is easy enough if you're easy on the controls. The linehaul part is good and bad. Good because you have predictable and generous home time. Bad because it is the same thing week after week.

We've expanded from 2 team trucks to 9 in this last year. We now run out of 3 FXG terminals: Columbus, Cleveland and Orlando. Hubby and I are going over to FX Custom Critical to test them out for more expansion.

Usually after a year you have a gripe or two even with the best company. I really don't have anything bad to say. Pay is good. Company is good. Miles are good. Boss is super.
