Can't get into details because of forum rules but for a few thousand bucks you can have that 14L laying down 525+ at the wheels with the ability to be averaging 7.5mpg if driven correctly(Seen the results many times over). Best part about it is you'll never have near the diagnosing headaches you are chasing now.

Fuel is a issue with my Coronado if I have a load paying out at about 3k going from boston to charleston I usually gross out between 2450 after fuel but i have a 515 Detroit 70" sleeper with a 13 speed but I felt like the drag was once a problem in my truck,So if you want something to pull go to a Detroit shop or get your mechanic to install aftermarket upgrades on te engine and rebuild your inframe and you should be good to go but the cummins 600 signiture is still the best cummins all the way in freightliners or kenworths no petes

Lol that's funny. A signature 6 is a nightmare. If it's not spinning main or rod bearings, or cracking the block, then you have to worry about the oil cooler. If those are surviving the abuse then it's gonna start leaking oil an coolant out of random places. To each there own but IMO the best place for a cummins is a junk yard.

Be aware the EGR Systems needs to be maintained. The EGR/ turbo work together with water pump,EGR Cooler, CAC, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, exhaust system, thermostats, delta-p sensor, EGR mixer pipes, vpods, vpods lines, and harnesses for V-pods and engine sensors. Also air compressor, and fuel pump, fan hub, and last raditor.. I have an older 14.0 liter I've replaced everything minus air compressor and fuel pump and fan hub.. If you have a reman DD turbo advise getting a new
    Garrett turbo..

Update. Visited the good folks in Davenport. They did a ECM tune and with ugly fix Charlotte style boost mode the truck woke up, and started doing better averages. Not really my expectations but pretty good. 6.1 MPG. They had told me they did EGR delete which I said WTH why not. did that along with another tune. well now she's a monster but with #### mileage again. weird though. when pulling hard the boost goes up to like 38 psi the drops to like 26-28 and EGT rises to 900 no matter what RPM. But this started IMMEDIATELY after the tune. Going to head out to Davenport again. I guess they got some fine tuning. I will however do a intake leak test and see if I got something that might be causing this boost issue.

My cousin got his 14l detroit tuned and egr deleted. Gained the power back. Had power loss when dad used to drive that truck.

When you changed the sensors, did they also check/change the connectors? I ask because this week I changed the turbo boost sensor and the connector was bad (sending intermittent signal) changed it as well, the truck ran flawlessly yesterday (but mileage does have me worried) I've been averaging about 6.20 loaded and empty (though the onboard readout says mid 5's).....I'm used to getting close to 8 while pulling flatbed (granted in a brand new Cascade DD13 with2.64 rears, super singles, and auto shift) but I kinda wanted closer to 7 .....I cruise at 65 and am as easy on throttle as can be...(I do mash on it in on ramp merging situations though)....

Just wandering if I'm totally crazy trying to get better mpg's ...from the numbers I've seen on these threads, maybe I should count myself lucky!!!(pulling 20, 40 and 45 foot containers 150 miles around Chicago)...

The more sensors you have, the more Problems the engine have.
