What I want to know is why you didnt run leads from the cig lighter through a battery isolator and directly into the batteries of the UPS. The battery isolator will keep the truck from drawing on the UPS when starting. Yet if the power of the truck batteries are still going you could essentially toss the inverter and just get a better UPS that handles more wattage.

A UPS is nothing more than a inverter that runs on house current that has internal battery that will auto backup if you lose power. It should be a true sine wave inverter as they usually are hooked up to a computer.

I myself have two APC 800's that I use for our home computers. Their internal batteries died long ago. Yet I went and got 2 marine deep cycle batteries. Now when the power dies, we can stay online for 16 hours before we have to restart the guzzling generator. The APC UPS will maintain the batteries when the power is on.

That beeping you are getting? If it is a constant? Usually means the batteries wont take a charge anymore.

That Cyberpower is really small. Pretty much used just to shut down your computer when the power goes out. Not really enough for anything in the truck.
