Also small possibility of loose injector but they'll know once the pull then out

    Helowrenchturn2 Thanks this.

If loose injector cup is made of copper so it's done for either way and how many problem d12 has with cups it's got to be cups that's what I would do first I have yet to see one volvo new or old to not have any issues with cups andI see them all day eeveryday so it's a lot of trucks new ones with stainless steel if cup is bad injector Is done to old ones with copper don't have the issue

    Helowrenchturn2 Thanks this.

I might call them back and tell them to just go ahead and replace cups to see what happens

So, I'm not sure what's going on. They called this morning and told me that they put air in the cylinders and found 1&4 passing into crankcase. Yesterday they said the compression test showed 4&6 bad and the rest were near 100%. Offered me a rebuild for $20k. Lol

That's ###### up I don't know who they have working on this #### or if they just want to make money with this kind of oil consumption that engine should not have any issues at all at least that will be the first one I see that doesn't use oil but has bad compression it doesn't make any sense to me at all. And 20k for in frame sounds high but they are a dealer anyway. I don't know man this is going to be a tough call to make I think it's getting harder and harder to find good honest mechanics everyone is out to make money I had a guy last week that overhauled a mack cuz dealer suggested it and all the time it was a bad egr cooler it's getting ridiculous

    Sani101 and Helowrenchturn2 Thank this.

And after 4 days they still haven't checked the cups like I asked. I told them to put it back together and I am taking it somewhere else
